Keeping the elections in perspective

Kim Weeks, owner of Boundless Yoga on U Street and one of the smartest, most committed yoga instructors I’ve known, made some observations about the elections on her blog the other day. It’s a testament to the strange world we inhabit in the “other half” of Washington, the part where people live and work and play.

Someone told Kim they thought our city didn’t have a soul — perhaps that it’s just a shell of a place that holds the federal government and nothing more? Whoa. Not true.

You have to live here to know what a great place we have in the real Washington. It’s so much more than just politics or lobbyists. It’s a place full of passion, and frustration, and sadness and all of the other things that make life worth living.

Check out Kim’s blog if you get a minute.
